McCann Park and Trail
Near the flood control lake is the McCann Park and Trail. This park offers paved and unpaved walking trails along a creek. The park is currently part of a development plan, but future plans may expand the park. Since the park appears to own a large amount of the land, future development is likely to occur there. It is located at Cedar Park, TX 78613.
Trails are also available in nearby neighborhoods. One 1.2-mile trail starts from Whitestone Elementary School and runs to Bagdad Road. Another trail is found in Cedar Park, and connects the Cedar Park Regional Medical Center with the 1890 Ranch Shopping Center. Another 1.4-mile trail starts at the Cedar Park City Park at 614 Stallion Drive. A 5.1-mile sidewalk also follows Lakeline Boulevard south of Cypress Creek Road, and Crystal Falls Parkway.
Other local trails include the Brushy Creek Regional Trail. This paved trail connects neighborhoods and workplaces. Another is the Cottonwood Creek Trail, a three-mile paved trail that connects local parks and schools. In addition, the Crestview/Highland Urban Trail connects the two Metrorail stations in the city. The other popular multi-use trail in the area is the Gilleland Creek Trail.
