Anderson Mill, TX
Anderson Mill is a neighborhood in Austin, Texas. Formerly a census-designated place, the neighborhood is in Travis and Williamson counties. As of the 2010 census, its population was 7,199. It is located between downtown Austin and South Austin. The area is primarily residential, and residents of the neighborhood consider it one of the most affluent areas in the city.
The Anderson Mill was constructed around 1775 and is the oldest mill in South Carolina. The mill was severely damaged during floods in the early 1900s, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Tyger River Foundation is working to restore the historic mill, and has set up an endowment to do so.
The Anderson Mill area was incorporated into a municipal utility district in 1973. The district was first known as Williamson County Municipal Utility District Number 1, but changed its name to Anderson Mill Municipal Utility District in 1988. The district provides water and wastewater services, trash pickup, and recreation facilities. In addition, the town has numerous recreational parks, including the Lakeline Mall.
